Baby Bottle Boomerang
Our church is once again partnering with Haven Health in this fundraiser!

This is an easy opportunity to be a part of helping mothers choose life and is a great ministry for the entire family. Simply take an empty baby bottle from the information table on Mother's Day, May 13; fill it with loose change, bills, or checks and return it to the church by Father's Day, June 17. If you have any questions, contact the church office.

Summer Bethel Study

Perhaps you haven't been able to take the Bethel Discipleship Class...perhaps you just want to see what the class is like...perhaps you want to continue studying God's Word in a small group setting during the summer.
If this is the case, then the Summer Bethel Study is for you!  We will have a four-week Bible study this summer on a specific book of the New Testament.
We will meet on Wednesday mornings, from 10 am till 12N Wednesdays:
July 11th, July 18th, July 25th
and August 1st.
If you are interested in attending, please register through our website or by contacting Phyllis Pemerton
(706-767-8347) .
We would love to have you join us!  Our topic of study will be announced in the next couple of weeks, so be sure to watch the Ministry Opportunities page in your bulletin for the specifics.

Would you like to love on people in Jesus's name? That's what the Evangelism Team at FPC does on Thursday mornings at the local bus stop near the church. We hand out water, snacks and Bibles and offer to pray with people. If you would like to join us, come to the coffee room at 8:15am on Thursday mornings. Please pray for us, and pray for opportunities for you to share the gospel with others.
Congratulation Communicants
The Children's Ministry wants to once again, thank Mr. Greg and Mrs. Bobbie Garrett and Mr. Mike Garrett for their amazing job teaching the Communicants Class of 2018. They are a huge blessing to the 6th graders and to our church!

The Vocabulary of the Gospel
Adult Summer Sunday School

This summer we will explore the great truths that are essential to the Christian life. Each lesson will answer three questions: First, what do we believe? A particular truth or concept will be defined. Second, why do we believe this? The scriptural basis will be examined with each lesson grounded in a particular passage or passages of Scripture. Third, how does this apply to my relationship with God and with others?   This series will give light and clarity to what we
believe and show the impact of that belief on our daily life.

Mission Spotlight:
for the Tijuana Mission Team 2018
If you are not called to "go" this time around, the Tijuana Mission Team for 2018 would ask you to serve as senders! The 26-person mission team leaves July 7th to serve for a week in Tijuana, Mexico with Centro Shalom, one of the First Presbyterian mission partners. The mission team will assist the Centro Shalom staff in leading a VBS, hosting an outreach to women in the community where the VBS will be held, construction projects, and hosting a few youth events.  Some of the First Pres VBS participants will have an opportunity to make some items that will be used in ministry in Tijuana.
How you can SERVE AS SENDERS :
  • Pray for the team as they prepare to go and while they are away July 7-15th.
  • Donate any Spanish children's books: Christian devotionals, secular or Christian interest books (NOT textbooks).
  • Donate pieces of fabric that will help in craft projects-we need fabrics with patterns that could represent something, tell a story, etc. Small pieces can be used.
Please bring donations to the church office or contact

30 Days of Prayer for the Muslim World
Join us for this year's annual, worldwide 30 Days of Prayer for the Muslim World!  This is a time for Christians to humbly learn about Islam and pray for Muslims during Ramadan May 15th-June 14th, Islam's important annual month of fasting and religious  observance.  One of the aims is to provide insight into Muslim faith and culture.  Understanding helps us to pray, to love, and to engage more effectively with Muslim people.

A new "Kid's Edition" is geared toward the elementary  school-age with illustrations and fun activities.
Free booklets will be available at each  Welcome Area.
