Times Square Video Presentation
Submissions due by June 1, 2018

Every year, NDSS reminds the world in a big way about the gifts that people with Down syndrome bring to their communities through a special video presentation on a jumbo screen in the heart of the Times Square.

The Times Square Video presentation kicks off Down Syndrome Awareness Month on the morning of the NDSS Buddy Walk® in New York City.NDSS receives over a thousand photo submissions for the Times Square Video contest. The featured photographs highlight children, teens and adults with Down syndrome working, playing and learning alongside friends and family. These collective images promote acceptance and inclusion, which is the foundation of NDSS and the National Buddy Walk® Program.

NDSS will accept submissions until June 1, 2018. Families will be emailed in mid-July if their photos are accepted.

What’s the NDSC Annual Convention all about?

Each year, thousands of people from across the globe attend the NDSC Annual Convention. For most, it’s to hear the latest information from world-renowned experts. For others, it’s a great vacation. However, for nearly all, there’s the one-of-a-kind NDSC “giant family reunion” feeling that permeates the convention weekend.

Recreational Scholarship
DSAG has a scholarship fund in place to provide qualified members with Down syndrome assistance in paying for certain therapeutic activities. These activities may include, but are not limited to, dance, art, horseback riding, water therapy, music or other activities that may build skill, strength and/or self-confidence. Although our budget does not allow DSAG to provide full funding of any one activity, the goal is to provide some funding for as many families as possible.

Ds Awareness License Plate
Last year, our state legislature passed a bill to authorize a Down syndrome awareness license plate. We must pre-sell 1,000 BEFORE they will go into production. We didn't reach the goal in 2017, so we had new legislation passed this year and must reach our goal by June 30, 2018. License plates are $35 each.

Half of the proceeds from the sale of the plates will go to DSAMT and will be used for state-wide advocacy efforts - which benefits individuals with Ds across the state. Please help us spread the word to reach our goal of 1,000 - we have a long way to go!
