"My Painting Passion-Capturing the Essence"

Plein-air and studio paintings by Cynthia Jackson-Hein

Upstairs Art Gallery

Cynthia's paintings capture the beautiful but melancholy evidence of abandoned homesteads, of history and dreams overcome by drought or modern mega-farms.  Exploring the West Coast, especially the wine country, her plein-air oil paintings are rich with luscious brushwork and harmonious color, reminding the viewer of the beauty to be found in the ordinary scenes encountered  in everyday travels.

Born in Manitoba, Canada, Cynthia busily lives, works and exhibits widely throughout Sonoma County for part of the year, and then escapes to her cabin on Lake of the Woods in Canada during the summer for rest and renewed inspiration.  Her paintings reflect the essence of both locales and her deep love of the land.
