RECENT RIBBON CUTTINGS
INSTALLATION OF WIFI
RIBBON CUTTING

The Royse City Chamber was honored to have the opportunity to hold a Ribbon Cutting for the installation of WiFi downtown Royse City. This  addition was made possible through a collaboration of the Royse City Main Street Program, the City of Royse City and the Royse City Independent School District. It will enable students who may not have internet at home to use their school issued chrome books anywhere within a 2 block radius of downtown. It will also be beneficial to any event that is being held downtown for those who may need internet access, and will ultimately be a tool for better communication with the community. For more information, contact Paula Morris, Main Street
Director at 972-524-4846

Meet our Administrative Assistant,
AMY BECKNELL

Amy Becknell, Executive Administrative Assistant of the Royse City Chamber of Commerce, moved to Royse City in 2016 with her husband, Matthew Becknell. Prior to working for the Royse City Chamber of Commerce, Amy was a legal assistant for 12 years and a flight attendant prior to that.

Growing up in an Air Force family, Amy was afforded the opportunity of living in England and on various Air Force bases in the United States. This opportunity allowed Amy to experience and appreciate difference cultures. Amy is passionate about the community in which she lives and when she is not working, she is often found helping animals, volunteering, and participating in community events.

Darrell Thomas PM, Secretary of Royse City Masonic Lodge #663 explains that the Community Builder Award is designed to enable a Masonic Lodge to recognize outstanding non-Masons who has distinguished themselves through their service to the community, to the local, state or national gov3rnment, to their church or Synagogue, or to humanity.  Thus, the award will be made available to be presented to individuals who although they have never been initiated into Masonry, have followed the same percepts, ideals and standard that have been established for Masonic behavior.

Every community has individuals who have earned the Community Builder Award over and over again. We may find them in service clubs, in the public-school system, in religious activities, in public office, in military or patriotic organizations, in all sorts of volunteer work, everywhere we look but often do not see.

Mayor Janet Nichol has had an open door to communicating with the citizens of Royse City.  Listening to our rants and raves on every aspect of our growing community, and has always had our grand little growing city in your best interests, keeping in mind of what our community needs and wants and remaining in balance”.

The Lodge will present Mayor Nichol with this prestigious award on June 1st, 2017 at the Royse City Masonic Lodge at 6:00pm. This is a combined awards banquet that the scholarship recipients will attend.
