The Great Courses:
Food Gardening for Everyone
April 26, 28  May 3, 4, 10, 12  1:00 PM 

Join us for this informative video course with renowned horticulturalist Melinda Myers. Learn everything you need to know to grow fresh food right outside, or inside, your home! Discover how to grow micro-greens and sprouts year-round, oyster mushrooms in your basement, fresh fruit and veggies in your backyard, and so much more! The course will be shown on our big screen and is scheduled twice weekly for 3 weeks.
Trivia Bingo Night

Hudson Valley Trivia will host another great night of Trivia Bingo! A little bit of luck and general knowledge is all you need for a chance to win fantastic prizes! Come solo or bring a group of friends and have a blast!

Ages 18+ only. Registration required. Space is limited. 

Kids ages 3+ can stay for crafts and movies with Miss Kathleen & kids ages 7+ can play their own Trivia with Miss Jenn and Hudson Valley Trivia in the Main Library while their parents play. Kids must be registered.       

Intro to Guitar for Adults
Wednesday, May 11  7:00 PM

It's never too late to learn how to play an instrument. Guitar instructor Joe Krzyzewski, from The Music Cottage in Brewster, will introduce students to the basics of acoustic guitar, including basic chords and technique, in this introductory workshop.

Registration required, limited guitars are available. Ages 18 + only. Please note if you have a guitar when you register.

How to Research and Be a Part     of Recording History

Learn how to research and record local history in this informative talk with the Patterson Historical Society and Dr. Sarah Johnson, Putnam County Historian. See great historic photos & hear about online sites and how you can contribute to the efforts to locate, document, map and upload info to HRVH.org, the New York State Office of Historic Preservation and other online sites.

Planting a Vegetable Garden

Learn how to plant your own vegetable garden with Cornell Cooperative Extension. Bring your garden measurements and leave with a garden plan and all the knowledge you need to get your garden started. Plus, get hands-on experience when you plant tomatoes, eggplants, peppers, potatoes, herbs and more in the library's own vegetable garden!

Summer Theater Experience Auditions

Come audition for the 2016 play, High School Musical Junior! This registration is lottery style. Anyone entering grades 3 and up as of September 2016 can register. Children will be notified if they are on the audition list or offered the chorus. Limited play spots available. Get ready for summer barbecues, celebrations, and parties in this fun cooking demonstration with Professional Chef, Stefan Fraundorfer.  Learn how to make delicious pulled pork with a BBQ Sauce made from scratch and tasty cole slaw for a summer menu that will please any crowd!

Use our Legos to show off your incredible imagination and building skills by tackling our monthly theme, or a theme of your own. We will display your amazing creations for 2 weeks, so bring a camera to take photos of your work! We have a limited number of base plates, so if you can bring your own to use, that would be great!
