Getting ready for Seize the Dream!
Volunteer Spotlight
Name: Karin Beth
Occupation: Retired Social Worker
Time with JFS: 7+ months
Volunteer Position: Food Committee - Seize the Dream

Karin is an LICSW who spent 30+ years working in community psychiatric work and working for Medicaid Managed Care Insurance companies.  After having been retired from Social Work for 2 years she decided it was time to volunteer and "do something meaningful with my life again." Her connection to JFS began with a chance meeting with a JFS Patient Navigator in a doctors office. She called us up and found a position that fit what she was looking for. When asked what she enjoys about volunteering at JFS, she said "I have enjoyed both the people I've met at JFS and feeling like I'm contributing something to the organization and the larger community." In her spare time she is a sports fanatic! She likes to watch any and all sporting events available, participate in discussion groups and attend games when possible. She also loves to spend time with family, read, and do photography.

Thanks Karin for turning a chance meeting into action. Your help with securing and following up with food providers has been an incredible asset to the Seize the Dream efforts!!!
