The SEEC is starting to plan for next year, so we are sharing the  2016-17 SEEC Professional Learning
Opportunities Catalog  to communicate the potential offerings we have identified.
Knowing that the  SEEC Professional Development Calendar is based on the interests and needs of our member  schools,  teachers, staff, and administrators, we have asked your principals and superintendents to respond to a survey about the offerings.

Please review the attached catalog, and if you see a topic that interests you, please contact your principals or superintendent soon!

AdvancED Stakeholder Survey
by Connie Molony, ELA Specialist

All hands on deck! We need your input on this short (5 minute) survey.

For the first time in North Dakota, the South East Education Cooperative (SEEC) and the other seven Regional Education Associations (REAs) are seeking AdvancED accreditation. The SEEC provides quality professional learning, programs, and services for its member schools with the ultimate goal of improving student learning.  Implicit in that lofty goal are many steps taken along the way, including (but not limited to):
  • formulating mission, vision, and core values;
  • developing and refining a strategic plan to anchor our work;
  • engaging stakeholders by building strong relationships and partnerships;
  • conducting recurring needs assessments;
  • securing and sustaining adequate funding;
  • recruiting and employing highly qualified staff;
  • assessing the effectiveness of our work;
  • using data to guide decisions and evaluate impact; and
  • communicating results to stakeholders.
Sound familiar?  The AdvancED standards and process for schools and for the SEEC are almost the same. SEEC staff are now in the Internal Review stage, and are preparing for a November, 2016, External Review Visit. The review team will include education leaders from our state and others. We anticipate a recommendation for accreditation in early 2017.

Your input is crucial.  As you know, AdvancED stakeholder surveys provide important information about the organization. Your responses will help us understand how well we function and meet your needs. Your administrator will be sending you an invitation to complete the Stakeholder Survey; please complete it only once.  All responses are completely confidential.

Thank you!  Everyone at the SEEC appreciates the valuable work you do for ND students!
