ConnectAbilities Planted Seeds

We enjoyed a beautiful day with over 30 adults with disabilities last week for the spring camp. We had many new attendees and got to decorate and plant flower pots. After touring the bluebell patch, participants planted pumpkin seeds in the new Ironwood garden. We can't wait for them to come back for the fall camp to harvest the pumpkins!

New Record for Senior Day

We set a new record for Senior Day this year with over 100 people joining us for fellowship, food, and great music! The bluebells were out in bloom. We look forward to seeing even more growth at this event next year. A huge thanks to the Young at Heart Singers for blessing us with their music.
Grandparent Grandchild Camp

There is still space in our Grandparent Grandchild Camp coming up June 21-23. This is the perfect opportunity to spend quality time with your grandchildren - and we'll plan all of the activities! The theme this year is "Make a Joyful Noise." Find more information on the camp and how to register here.
A Letter from Lou

It's amazing to see what God has provided for us and this Spring has been no exception... for me, especially! The leaves are out, grass is green (okay, kind of yellow with a bumper crop of dandelions) and the bluebells were spectacular... In just a few short weeks I was fortunate enough to see the transformation of the campus. I find it refreshing how this season almost mirrors our mission at Ironwood. To say I am blessed to witness seasonal transformations, and more importantly, personal transformations, on a daily basis is an understatement.

Being inclusive in all that we do continues to be paramount to making sure
everyone has a chance to be empowered physically, mentally and spiritually, which is why your support is so vital. Being able to offer free and low cost programs, camps and retreats can only happen with your help!

With approximately 450 non-profits in the area, I know that many are worthy of support, but perhaps Ironwood Springs differs in that we encourage you to visit often, perhaps volunteer and, for lack of a better term, find some spiritual ownership of Ironwood Springs. There's something about this place...for sure!

Currently we are looking for support for the 9th  annual Miracle Happen Festival. MHFest serves as a major fundraiser for all of our programs while introducing new faces to the Ironwood Springs' mission. We would be so grateful if you would be an MHFest donor. Complete and developing information is available at MHFest.com, or just give us a call.

Thank you in advance for all you do for Ironwood Springs and wishing you a blessed day!

Respectfully yours,
Lou Kastler
Development Director

Bits from Bob

May is such a beautiful month when the outdoors comes to life. Things in nature take turns, as well. The wild bluebells are replaced with the wild violets, blood roots, May apples, and many others - I so enjoy their beauty. It has been really special watching our farmer neighbors planting their seeds. May is also graduation month. Our daughter, Birdie, graduated from Northwestern in St. Paul and is now a nurse. Jode and I enjoyed having the Board of Directors, staff and spouses at our house for a cookout. I was blessed by recently attending the Minnesota Prayer Breakfast along with 1,600 other people.

We are just 3 weeks out from the 31 st annual National Wheelchair Sports Camp. The theme this year is "I Live, I Learn, I Love, I Wheel." It seems we will have another full house. Stop by any time to catch some of the action and meet wheelers from across the country. We also have our 2 nd annual Family Wheelchair Camp August 10-13.

Volunteers continue to be the "Heart of the Ranch." Spring volunteers include Christ Community Church, Arlan Walton, Bob Mallan, Hormel Veterans, Faith E. Free Church - Austin, Belgrade Un. Methodist Church - Mankato, Brenda Gronwaldt, Mike Lasher, and Brad Nelson.

We need your help in funding our second  wheelchair accessible trail to the Castner Riding Arena. Last year we put in a ΒΌ mile trail to the mini farm and it is just terrific.

The next three months are full with many exciting activities, camps, weddings, reunions and retreats. We ask for your prayers that the presence of God will be felt in each person. Hebrews 13:5 "Be content with such things as you have."
