NEW The Delaware River Basin covers over 13,500 square miles and the Philadelphia region is near the bottom.  Issues of water allocation, point and non-point source pollution, estuary issues, status of the natural gas drilling ban, value of headwaters and governance will be discussed. Join Us for a Smart Lunch
NEW Climate change is emerging as the most important environmental and public health issue of our time. Dr. Richard Tolin, a member of the Climate Reality Project Leadership Corps, will review basic climatology and emphasize the impact of climate change on global systems of nutrition, water and health. Data specific to Pennsylvania and a discussion of the tools available to mitigate the effects of climate change will be included.  Lunch is included.

NEW Visit the Phillips Collection and take a  docent-led tour exploring the important role Swiss-born artist Paul Klee (1879-1940) played in the development of mid-20th century American art. After the tour, travel to Hillwood Estate and enjoy a light lunch (included in price) in the Hillwood cafe, and a guided tour of the beautiful gardens and mansion of Marjorie Merriweather Post.

Following lunch we will have a guided tour of Winterthur's first garden exhibition, "Follies: Architectural Whimsy in the Garden!"

                               Beyond the Scene in Newport













NEW  Join us for a two night, three day trip to Newport, RI, home of magnificent Guilded Age Mansions, miles of beach, a vibrant art scene, rich history and great food. 

When we arrive in Newport, we will start along Ocean Drive, a combination of spectacular views and the lavish mansions built as "summer homes". We will stop and take a guided tour of Doris Duke's, home, Rough Point. After our breakfast on the second day, a docent led walking tour will be provided by the Newport Historical Society to The Great Friends Meeting House, The Colony House and The Wanton-Lyman-Hazard House. We will also have an opportunity to see historical artifacts not available to the public. On the third day, you can explore your choice of venue at Touro Synagogue, Trinity Church, Newport Art Museum, Redwood Library, or International Tennis Hall of Fame (Admission included to one of your choice)
