5th Circuit Court Denies Request From AARP & States to Intervene on Fiduciary Rule

Based on our understanding, the ruling to vacate the Fiduciary Rule will go into effect on May 5th. The Department of Labor has 90 days from March 15th to appeal the 5th Circuit’s decision to the Supreme Court. Until the Fiduciary Rule is officially vacated, Impartial Conduct Standards will continue to apply to sales/advice to qualified plan participants and IRA owners.
