A Message From Mayor Steve Noble:
Dear Friends,

The 49th Annual Children's Day Parade was another great success thanks to the hard work of our Parks and Recreation Department, community youth serving organizations, local parents and caregivers, and above all, our children. It was a great joy to see hundreds of our local children decorating their group floats, dressing up, and just enjoying being kids. I'm already looking forward to the big 50th anniversary next year!

Finally, special congratulations go to our home team  of the National Premier Soccer League, Stockade FC, for their incredible conference championship this past weekend! It was truly an honor to hand them their trophy as they celebrated this well-earned victory. Whatever comes next, this has been a great season and a wonderful opportunity to welcome residents and visitors to a day at Dietz Stadium.

-Steve

"Movies Under the Stars" Summer Movie Series Returns to Kingston

Mayor Steve Noble is pleased to announce the return of the City's popular "Movies Under the Stars" program. Established in 2011 by a group of community volunteers, "Movies Under the Stars" connects local residents and visitors to Kingston's parks and public spaces through a series of free outdoor movie events.

"This is one of my favorite traditions in the City of Kingston," said Mayor Noble. "It's a great way to spend time with family and reconnect with neighbors. I encourage everyone to join in the fun and enjoy a free movie night in the park."

Films are shown at 8:30pm on each of the scheduled movie dates. In the event of rain, notifications about postponements or cancellations will be sent to all media and radio stations and posted at www.kingston-ny.gov and on the City's Facebook page.

The free "Movies Under the Stars" program is made possible thanks to our generous sponsors.

Parking Updates

Have you noticed the bright pink stickers on each of our parking meters? The City of Kingston is pleased to introduce the new Whoosh! mobile parking payment app.

This app is available in the App Store and Google Play. Some of the benefits of Whoosh! include:
  • Easy way to pay for parking
  • Text reminders when time is running out
  • Extend time remotely (and avoid parking fines)
  • Electronic history of parking payments
  • Your time moves with you (if you pay to park for two hours and decide to move to another area of the city where parking meters are located, your time comes with you.)
This is an optional payment method. All parking meters still accept nickels, dimes and quarters.

2017 On-Street Parking Rates

The new on-street parking rates are now in effect. Rates are as follows:

1 quarter......................15 minutes
2 quarters....................30 minutes
3 quarters....................45 minutes
4 quarters...........................1 hour
