MCKINNON, SMAY, BROWN
SHOW THE WAY TO WINS
It might have been Bump Day across town on Saturday afternoon May 19th, but there was plenty of bumping and passing in an action-packed evening at the Tom Wood Group Indianapolis Speedrome powered by Lincoln Tech. Here is a short summary of events in 3 of the 5 classes in competition.

The Last Chance Wrecker Factory Front Wheel Drives had 32 cars charge into preliminaries. Winning those contests were Michael McKinnon, Marc Bisson, Chuck Watkins, and Trae Bowman. McKinnon would march past early leaders Stephen Egner and Brad Ransdell for victory in the 20-lap “A” feature. Joseph Liggett was second and Jess Holliday third. The “B” main saw title contenders Tylar Brown and Scott Stewart Jr overcome earlier heat race disappointment to go 1-2 at the checkered flag. Billy Bartholomew Jr rounded out the podium.

The Shelbyville Auto Parts Thundercars headlining portion of their automotive interaction began with veteran Aaron Smay grabbing the early lead in the 25-lap feature. The top trio in points (EJ Neat, Dale Harper, and Josh Garr) charged forward during the mid-stages of the main event. Standings topper Neat got all the way to second but couldn’t dislodge Aaron from his first victory of the season. Harper held on to finish third. Heat race wins went to former champ Herbie Conrad and Smay.

What an amazing crop of young talent lives in the Circle City Pyrotechnics Junior Faskart division. Heat race one saw Nathan Brown best over John Hargraves Jr and Jalen Summers. The second heat had Noah Perkinson winning over Jayden Durham and Brayden Tharp. Brown snagged the lead early in the evenings feature. He first had to fend off recent main victor Ashton Murello then Hargraves. Several restarts tested Nathan, but he was able to succeed in taking a career first victory. John Jr was the runner-up followed by Stevie Frost, Perkinson, and Tyler Morefield.
