MCA in 2017 


Throughout 2016, the best term to describe what MCA has undertaken is: building capacity. Starting in late 2015, with the launch of the Calgary and Edmonton Young Executive groups through to the launch of the mechanical focused education program in October 2016, the MCA has significantly expanded its capacity to deliver results. Results that will provide real value back to you; the MCA membership.

From January 12-14, we've had 26 teams (104 curlers) participate in our annual bonspiel. A big thank you to all who attended and of course to the committee who contributed their time to ensure the success of the event!

MCA has partnered with Critical Safety
 
MCA is proud to announce our new partnership with Critical Safety who are a Canadian safety training and consulting company specializing in Scaffold training. Critical Safety is based in Calgary and have been doing scaffold training since 1998. 

Critical Safety is offering a new online course designed for safety officers, superintendents, project managers, project coordinators, and foremen that have an inspection responsibility for the scaffold or workers that use scaffold erected by others.

Industry News
STANDATA new plumbing code 


Please be advised that after consulting with our neighbouring municipalities, we will be adapting and enforcing the 2015 National Plumbing Code of Canada on all permits effective February 1, 2017. Please be aware as there are areas affected in the new code that will require a change from current plumbing practices.

Environmental Safety
Energy efficiency regulations

On December 28, 2016, a mendment 13 to the energy efficiency regulations was published in part two of the Canada  Gazette . These regulations will be published on June 28, 2017 where they will come into effect six months afterwards.
