Nyala Lounge’s Business Licence Cancelled
September 24, 2018

Media are invited to join representatives from the Public Safety Compliance Team (PSCT) to learn about the cancellation of Nyala Lounge’s business licence.

   Date: Monday, September 24
   Time: 1:30 p.m.
Location: Media Room, 2nd Floor City Hall

The PSCT recommended cancelling the licence in the interest of public and patron safety after repeated violations to safety and security conditions. The City of Edmonton issued a letter to cancel the licence on September 19, 2018.

The PSCT is a multi-agency team that strives to improve the safety of staff and patrons within licensed establishments in the hospitality industry. The team is made up of the Edmonton Police Service, Fire Rescue Services, Edmonton’s Community Standards & Neighbourhoods Branch and the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission.

Nyala Lounge, located at 10875 98 Street, has 14 days to appeal to the Community Standards and Licence Appeal Committee which would give them the option to remain open until the hearing.
