Date: Friday, November 18, 2011 Time: 1:00 p.m. Location: Governor's Reception Room, State Capitol, St. Paul Participants: The Honorable Mark Dayton, Governor of the State of Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar MTGA President Jeff Lindell (turkey farmer from CANNON FALLS) FFA Students from Willmar High School (invited) MTGA Executive Director Steve Olson (from BUFFALO) Colleen Moriarty, Executive Director, Hunger Solutions Minnesota (invited) Purpose: This is a traditional holiday ritual at the State Capitol. In addition to talking about the 2011 Presidential Flock and the pardon coming from President Obama prior to Thanksgiving, the Governor will be recognizing the MTGA's annual donation to Hunger Solutions Minnesota. NOTE:The two turkeys will come from the Presidential Flock raised in Willmar, Minnesota. Two of the turkeys from this flock - which were cared for in part by four FFA students from Willmar High School - will be chosen over the weekend of November 19-20 to make the trip to the White House to be pardoned by President Obama.
