Dem governor candidate caught at strip club drug raid in 1998,

takes no responsibility for irresponsible behavior

The news comes on the heels of sexual deviant starring in the opening Davis for Governor campaign ad

Topeka, KS:  BREAKING NEWS: A southeast Kansas newspaper published police reports today that indicate Paul Davis was found with a partially nude dancer in a darkened back room of a strip club while his client, the strip club owner, sold methamphetamine to confidential informants throughout the evening.

According to the Coffeyville Journal and Politico, an officer who was in charge of securing the "VIP Room" wrote in his report "I noticed a white male sitting in a couch with a white female standing over him. She was apparently a dancer in the club, because she did not have her top on and was only wearing a G-string."

The officer, with his firearm drawn, yelled at Davis and the dancer to immediately lie face down on the floor with the woman still topless. While initially resisting instructions to lie down, Paul Davis repeatedly told the officer he was an attorney and wanted to talk to his client, the owner of the club, Mr. Marvin Jones.

According to the article, deputies were executing a search warrant on suspicion that "Secret's" strip club owner Marvin Jones was selling methamphetamines out of the club.

Davis identified himself as "a lawyer from Lawrence" and later said he was the attorney for Jones. The incident occurred Aug. 5, 1998, shortly after midnight. Davis was licensed to practice law in April 1998.

Stunningly, Paul Davis took no responsibility for actively socializing in a meth den, stating that he was "in the wrong place at the wrong time."

A key question in response to Davis' statement is whether Paul Davis was forced by his boss to go to the VIP room to have a woman take off her clothes and dance on top of him.

News of this behavior casts serious questions on Davis' judgment and fitness for public office.

"Paul Davis said at Friday's Johnson County Governor's debate that 'I think that the best example of future behavior is past behavior.'  Davis' behavior - whatever he was doing to or with that woman in the 'VIP room' while his client was dealing meth in the bar - demonstrates  a total lack of judgment and is the kind of behavior that Kansans will find totally unacceptable in someone who wants to be governor," said Clay Barker, executive director of the Kansas Republican Party.

This news comes on the heels of Paul Davis selecting a man with a sordid and sexually deviant past in his television ad.

"In just the past two weeks, we have learned that Paul Davis has chosen to surround himself with meth dealers and sexual deviants.  I think the question all Kansans want to know is, what else are you hiding, Paul?" asked Barker.
