Medications for Diabetes HDG Recap
The September Hawthorne Diabetes Group (HDG) was lead by special guest Chris Blem, PharmD. Dr. Blem provided an overview of medications with the emphasis that food, activity, and lifestyle come first with medications as secondary tools. For a copy of the gathering's handout, you can visit our Tips and Tools page and click on Medications for Diabetes .

Blood Sugar Testing:
How to Test, When to Test,
What the Numbers Mean
Join us as we discuss how and why to check your blood sugar. Learn to interpret the results and incorporate your readings into your lifestyle decisions. This includes what to do when the numbers are very high or very low. In addition, we will discuss the importance of removing the value judgment from the numbers; you are not “bad” if your numbers are high.

Bring your meter and strips if you have them. If not, we can check your blood sugar during the session free of charge.

This group will be led by Julia Hanfling, host of the Hawthorne Diabetes Group.

Date:  Thursday, November 16th

Time: 7-8:30pm

Location:  Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church ~ 2828 SE Stephens St. Portland, OR 97214
