New Board Members
We are pleased to welcome our new Board Members Bill Brueckner, Kim Thames, and Bob Hardaway pictured with 2017 Board Chair, Matthew Moore!

Meet Bill Brueckner
"My United Way story is simple...I have supported United way since I started working at Shaw in 1991. I gave because I thought it was the right thing to do. I also thought this giving was more than enough, only because I did not see what else was needed." Bill recalls that it wasn't until he participated in agency tours and remembers our slogan at the time "Anyone is Only a Day Away" from needing help that he realized he had to do more to go along with his financial commitment. Bill also states, "While serving on the Board of United Way Community Partner, Looper Speech and Hearing Center, and also serving on United Way's, Community Solutions Panel, the big picture became clear. These experiences ultimately defined what "giving truly meant". While I'm grateful for my path, I wish I had learned the impact of volunteerism earlier to go along with what I thought was enough." Before he called Dalton home, Bill was born in Chattanooga Tennessee, but grew up in Elba, Alabama. He graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with emphasis in Human Resources Management. His career with Shaw started in 1991 in Human Resources where he has since served in various positions. He currently serves as Manager of Medical Services. He and his wife, Wendy, have two children, Henley and McKenzie. They are actively involved in basketball with both daughters and enjoy watching Auburn football together.
