Kado was abandoned and now needs your help!
Meet Kado! This sweet middle-aged gentleman was abandoned at AARF with a note that his family could no longer care for him. This handsome husky mix is about 7 years old and has very good manners. He walks well on a leash and seems to like other dogs (although is a little too curious about potential feline friends). He loves to talk and has that distinct husky voice!

Unfortunately, Kado has some health issues that need some immediate attention. He tested positive for heartworms, and at his age, we want to start treatment ASAP. Our vet has recommended the slow-kill method, which is much safer and doesn't require significant crate rest. He also has some moderate arthritis in his back legs, and we have already started medication to help with pain and inflammation.

We would also love to find a foster home for Kado. As an older boy, he doesn't need a lot of exercise, although he does enjoy his walks around the neighborhood. He would do well in a home with or without a fenced yard, and would probably even do well in a condo or apartment. Visit our website here to learn more about our foster program and to fill out an application to foster Kado.
