We asked Katie...

 

What made you want to join Delta Phi Epsilon?  

As an undergraduate, I was interested in becoming a part of Delta Phi Epsilon after meeting several sisters. I recognized that the women I knew from the Chapter were able to balance their education, philanthropy and still have fun. The first DPhiE I met was the volunteer who helped me move into my dorm room on campus. I then became friends with other DPhiE sisters in my classes. I quickly realized that every DPhiE I met was really fantastic, and I loved what both the women and the organization stood for.     

 

How did you end up on an appearance of The Early Show?  

In April 2010, while I was seeking employment, PARADE Magazine selected me as one of five individuals from across the United States to be chronicled in their job search. One of the main reasons PARADE selected me was because I founded NJ Unemployed, a networking group dedicated to bringing the unemployed community together by holding educational seminars, social events and more. They said they also chose me because of the way I was using social media to secure employment. This coverage led to an appearance on CBS's "The Early Show."
