Kelley Jon’s favorite sports to participate in are swimming and basketball and he believes that he has, “come a long way as athlete from when he first started.” He really has a love for competing and “beating the opponents.” Kelley Jon has won a lot of medals over the years and is “very proud” of every single medal that he has. When asked what his favorite thing about Special Olympics is, he responded by saying, “the dance.” Kelley Jon likes to dance, but he also believes that the dances have provided him the opportunity to meet a lot of new people.

Kelley Jon has been competing in Special Olympics since 1988. He loves “being active because he is really athletic.” All of his hard work and dedication over the years has paid off as he was selected to represent Team New Hampshire at the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games in Seattle, Washington. Kelley Jon will be competing in the swimming and is very excited. He is really looking forward to the competition at the Games and being able to travel to a place that he has never been.

Justin Lessard is still quite new to Special Olympics as he started just last year. When asked why he wanted to join Special Olympics, he said, “to meet new people and make new friends and to just have fun.” So far, Justin has really enjoyed his time with Special Olympics and is looking forward to maybe trying new sports, participate in the Penguin Plunge, and continue meeting new people and making friends in the future.

Justin really enjoys running, so starting in athletics has been a great experience for him. Justin was originally a part of the Plus Pride, but recently moved to Manchester from Nashua and he is really excited to meet his new team and teammates. Justin is really looking forward to getting better, meeting more people, and getting more involved with Special Olympics.
