Meet Naiya Patel

At A Woman's Place (AWP) we are lucky to have our Young Adult Advisory Board (YAAB) volunteers who bring a fresh and youthful perspective to our mission. Naiya has brought passion to whatever task she is undertaking and sets a great example for us all.

Naiya Patel

Q: What's on your Bucket List?

A: There are many things on my bucket list. The top one is to celebrate a New Year's Eve in Times Square.

Q: What is something that not many people know about you?

A: I am a vegetarian by birth. Since the day I was born I have never touched any form of meat.

Q: Why did you choose to volunteer?

A: As I begin to think about what I want to do in my life, I have come up with one answer: Whatever I do, I want to make a difference and volunteering gives me that opportunity.

Q: What is your favorite moment so far at AWP?

A: I really enjoyed helping organize the domestic abuse and violence awareness Walk to Empower and 5K  last October.

Q: Any advice you would give to potential or new volunteers?

A: AWP  is the perfect place to help make a difference.

Thank you Naiya for being a part of AWP and doing  your part to create a safer community!
