UTSA Eagle Ford Shale Project
This year's speakers feature an update about opportunities stemming from the Eagle Ford Shale, a hydrocarbon-producing formation rich in oil and natural gas that stretches from just west of Houston to the Mexican border. It has been one of the most active drilling sites for oil and gas in the United States for the past two years and a magnet for firms pursuing new business. Our guest speakers will be discussing the business forecast and how Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) can learn about and engage in opportunities related to drilling and exploration activities in the area. Tier I companies already doing business related to the Eagle Ford Shale have been invited to attend this event as this has the potential to stimulate more activities for MBEs. |

The Eagle Ford Shale (EFS) is located in South Texas and the formation produces from various depths between 4,000 and 14,000 feet. The EFS takes its name from the town of Eagle Ford Texas where the shale outcrops at the surface in clay form. The Eagle Ford is a booming shale play, results indicate there will be development activity for a long time.
