 We asked Tricia...

What made you choose DPhiE as a Collegian?

I was a commuter student, and I felt like I was missing out on the "college experience" and just generally felt disconnected to the university, so I went through sorority recruitment. Some of my friends tried to talk me out of it, but I'm glad I didn't listen; those 5 days changed my life forever. I chose DPhiE because the women I met were cool, down-to-earth, sincere, fun to be around, and I instantly hit it off with them.

What motto do you try to live by?

I always loved the quote, "Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle." I really try my best to live by that, because it is so true. I've learned that you never know what is going on in someone's life at any given time, and you need to be sensitive to that. Sometimes you can change the vibe of an entire situation by the way you approach the individuals involved, and in many instances, a smile and some genuine kindness go a really long way.
