Get Your Limited Edition BAYCAT Comic!
Our graphic design students lost all their work three weeks ago in the theft, now they're doing a limited release of  their comic book to you!
Greetings!

It's been a whirlwind three weeks since the robbery. Although the initial shock still hasn't quite worn off, the amazing resilience of our students and community has been beyond inspiring! Thanks to you, we've already reached 40% of our goal, but we still have a lot further to go to rebuild our lab!

Today I want to share with you a limited-edition perk you can get when you become part of our Show Must Go On Campaign!  I want to introduce you to Valerie, our Summer Media Camp Teaching Asssistant and Intern.
Valerie
Valerie working with Carlean on her comic.

When all of our student work was stolen with the laptops, our graphic design students were the ones who lost the most. Four students (including Carlean pictured above) lost complete comic books that they had been working on for five weeks. Although the students were at first discouraged, Valerie and the rest of our team worked tirelessly to motivate and support our young artists in re-creating their lost work.

Teaching is never easy, but when faced with the challenge Valerie knew what she needed to do to inspire the students to tell their stories. When asked about her experience at BAYCAT, Valerie had this to say:

Throughout my time here, I have gained significant design experience by attending client meetings and working closely with my mentor and BAYCAT Art Director, Tim Harrington. In turn, I have also been able to counsel younger students, allowing me to share my passion and pass on my skills to the next generation of BAYCAT graduates.

I am continually inspired by the emphasis of community and team building, in order to create and communicate untold stories.

BAYCAT Comic

Thanks to Valerie's experience and mentorship our students pulled together and recreated their comics in time for our Open House, where they premiered to an audience of nearly 200!

Now you have a chance to show your support for our students and their amazing work when you make a $75 gift to our Show Must Go On Campaign!  Only 20 comic books are available, so act fast if you want your copy!

BAYCAT has gotten to where it is today because of our community! Valerie's is just one of the many inspiring stories that has helped to build BAYCAT to what it is today. Yours is another.

Thanks for all the ways you support us! We would not be here without you!
