Deborah Beiler 
Pre-K Teacher
Mrs. Beiler holds a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Florida State College of Jacksonville. She has lived in Jacksonville since 2004 and is excited to again being part of the Sarasota community. Mrs. Beiler has been involved with serving her church community in a variety of capacities including middle school retreats. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two grown daughters, along with time at the beach and swimming.
Kathleen Bowen
Dual Enrollment Science Teacher
Mrs. Bowen has a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from Kansas State University, and an Master's Degree in Biochemistry and an Master's Degree in Education from the University of Louisville. She serves as an ESOL tutor for the Sarasota Literacy Council. Mrs. Bowen enjoys painting, reading, outdoor activities, yoga, watching old movies, and learning about all things Florida. She shares her home with her husband, Dan, and their dog Charlie.
Susan Hedgcock
High School English Teacher 
Dr. Hedgcock holds a Bachelor's Degree in English from the University of South Florida and an Master's Degree
and Doctorate Degree in education from Columbia Pacific University. She has taught English in private and public schools, and coordinated an American school in Dubai, UAE. She and her husband live on a small horse farm, have 2 children and four grandchildren. Her passion, beyond reading, is serving on the worship production team at her church.
Kelley Larkin
1st Grade Teacher
Mrs. Larkin has a Bachelor's Degree in elementary education from Samford University, and a Master's Degree in library and information sciences from the University of Alabama. She enjoys spending time with family, cheering on her four children at sporting activities, reading, and playing with their dogs, Chloe and Lucy. Mrs. Larkin is passionate about pointing children to Jesus and seeing their faces light up as they learn and gain understanding.
Elizabeth Metz
Upper Elementary School Science & Social Studies Teacher 
Mrs. Metz has a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of South Florida, and an Master's Degree in teaching with a K-12 specialization in reading and literacy from Walden University. She and her husband have a daughter, as well two dogs and a guinea pig. Mrs. Metz enjoys reading, shopping, traveling, and spending time with friends.
Kathy Miller
Upper Elementary School Language Arts Teacher 
Mrs. Miller has a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Huntington University, and both private and public elementary classroom teaching experience. She and her husband Jeff have three children. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and cheering on her children at sporting events.
Anne Mullin
Middle School English Teacher 
Mrs. Mullin earned a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Goucher College, and an Master's Degree in Classical Studies from St. John's College. She comes to SCS with teaching experience at both the elementary and middle school levels. In her free time, Mrs. Mullin can be found running with her dogs at the beach or reading a good book. She has lots of fun lessons in store for students.
Alma Ovalle
Director of Student Ministries 
Mrs. Ovalle is our new half-time Director of Student Ministries, overseeing chapel/worship and providing campus wide spiritual support and leadership. She will continue to teach some Spanish classes.
Laura Randall
Director of Development and Alumni Relations
Ms. Randall has a Bachelor's Degree from Santa Clara University and a Master's Degree from George Washington University. She has worked in nonprofit fundraising for over 10 years. She and her husband Rick have three daughters. She enjoys biking and kayaking in her free time.
Heather Rajzer
High School Social Studies and 7th Grade Business Teacher
Mrs. Rajzer has a Bachelor's Degree in History and Secondary Education from the University of St. Francis. She likes to share experiences from the three years she spent in Europe with students, and is excited to rejoin SCS as a teacher. Mrs. Rajzer enjoys traveling, cheering on and supporting her three children at activities, traveling and the beach
Barbie Spraker
Elementary School Learning Support and 3rd-6th Grade Art Teacher
Mrs. Spraker is pleased to return to SCS part-time, after teaching here full-time for over 18 years. She is passionate about teaching and seeing children grow in their faith walk with Jesus. Mrs. Spraker enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and serving at her church.    
Sydney Warner
7th - 12th Grade Art Teacher
Mrs. Warner has a Bachelor's Degree in Art Education from Taylor University. She spent time volunteering in the classroom throughout her college career, and enjoyed teaching an after-school art camp for kids and leading guided tours for schools at a local gallery. Her hobbies include drawing, painting, dancing, and playing with animals. Mrs. Warner is excited to be teaching art this year and can't wait to see all the creativity our students have to offer.
Sarai Williams
Spanish Teacher and Middle School Technology Teacher 
Mrs. Williams earned a Bachelor's Degree from Florida State. She recently returned to Sarasota after spending the last year in missions with VidaNet, traveling throughout Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, and El Salvador serving with local churches and organizations. Mrs. Williams is excited to transition into the classroom and share her passion for the Latin culture, art and service with students.
Tim Wyse
Director of Maintenance
Mr. Wyse brings extensive experience in construction remodeling and finish carpentry, along with facilities maintenance. He has also enjoyed driving with touring events including Winter Jam, Women of Faith, and NASCAR. Tim enjoys spending time with his daughter, golfing, and cheering on the Blazers.
