Meet your Neighbors!
Watch my 2 minute tip about this activity here!
Heart-centered entrepreneurs are specially designed for community and collaboration. Centering in a heart place allows you to see that there are enough resources to go around and that working together is more powerful than working alone sometimes.
Here's my theory on why other entrepreneurs can be collaborators on your team instead of competitors.
In heart-centered entrepreneurship, the gift (service/product) we offer comes from our heart. Since we are all unique individuals with delightfully different callings in our hearts, there truly are no other heart-centered entrepreneurs doing the exact same thing as you nor competing for the same clients.
When you do business from a heart space, you create a vibration, vibe, resonance around your business that reaches out into the world to touch resonating hearts. The clients who resonate with your business will be attracted to the sense of safety and trust they feel with you. They will see, hear and sense something in your unique heart-centered business that touches them deep inside, giving them the courage, confidence and validation / acceptance they need to trustingly work with you.
So to me, all my neighboring business owners and colleagues are actually potential or actual collaborators in my success instead of competition. I envision my neighborhood as a spiderweb reaching out to people I don't know yet and guiding clients who need my help towards me in the center. And unlike the center of a real spider web, my eagerness is to gift my clients with heart centered offerings (instead of eat them).
So how do you create that spider-web-of-goodness in your own neighborhood?
By getting to know your neighbors! Shop locally as much as possible and chat with the people working there. Let them know who you are, what you do and who you're looking to serve. Also learn about who they are, what they do, and who they are looking to serve. If you are resisting the idea of sharing with your neighbors, struggling with feeling like you have to hold tightly to your potential clients and are afraid to collaborate with your neighbors, check out Appendix B of the Buff your Business! Bootcamp E-book on cultivating Abundance.
Your Bootcamp Activity today:
Pick one (or more) neighboring business or colleague to reach out to and get to know. Stop by in person to say hi or invite your neighbor out for a cup of tea. If you're more on the introverted side, compose a short note or email expressing your interest in learning about what this neighbor does and invite him or her to get in touch with you over email, phone or stop by.
Look for advanced activities and other ideas for growing your business in a heart-centered way in the free Buff Your Business! Bootcamp.
