Greetings,
Reminder of our TAMBA Meeting Wednesday night, May 23 at 6:30pm at Sprouts Cafe in South Lake Tahoe. You can view the agenda here.
Thanks to Alta Alpina Cycling Club for donating part of the proceeds from the Pine Nut Cracker race last weekend to TAMBA. It was a beautiful day for racing in the Carson Valley. Check out the Peavine Challenge on June 2nd-3rd including a new 5 mile Super-D race.
Read on for trail work opportunities this weekend including the the Reno Pump track build, the Truckee Pump Track Grand Opening, Upcoming trainings, and upcoming Public trail meetings where your input is needed.
For updates on current trail conditions, check out our website. If you can provide updates for trails not on this list, please e-mail our webmaster. Tyrolean is now open as well as the TRT from Brockway to Tahoe City. Other TRT sections are probably not far behind.
As more trails open, please remember to ride through the remaining snow patches rather than making new trails around them and stay clear of wet or muddy areas so we don't leave ruts in the trail for the rest of the summer. Don't be 'that guy' that ruins it for everyone else:)
Thanks, kj

TAMBA Trail Day-Tyrolean Downhill
| TAMBA Trail Day on Sunday, May 27 on the Tyrolean Downhill Trail. Meet at 9am at the lower Diamond Peak parking lot across from the Big Water Grill. We will then caravan to the work site. Volunteers must wear long pants, long sleeves and sturdy footwear. Please bring drinking water and work gloves. A burrito lunch from T's will be provided and Village Ski Loft will be providing a cooler of drinks at the end of the day! Come on out and show the trails some love!
Reno Pump Track Build DayThe Reno Pump Track will break ground later this week and TAMBA and the Poedunks are hosting a community build day on Monday, May 28 (Memorial Day) from 0900 until mid-afternoon. The location is Panther Valley Park, 650 Link Lane, 89506. There is plenty of room for parking around the corner on Western Drive. Volunteer to work all or part of the day, every little bit helps. Monday's work day will involve the finishing and dialing in of the multiple tracks and jump lines. Wear Long pants, gloves, and sturdy shoes(no sandals, Teva's, Crocs, etc,). We will be using hand tools and most will be provided. But in case we get 30+ people, please bring rakes, square shovels, or tampers if you have them(but write your name on them first). Also, feel free to bring your bikes and helmets for test rides. Black Rock Bicycles will be providing a BBQ Lunch for all volunteers! The Grand Opening Party is tentatively scheduled for late afternoon on Friday, June 22.

Public Trail Meetings
| Providing input to public agencies is very important to improve and enhance trail networks available for mountain biking. There are two public meetings soliciting comments on trail plans coming up. Please consider attending and let them know that you support more trails!
Incline Village Trails Plan- This plan is being put together by a community group that wants to see a better multi-use trail network around Incline Village. It includes several new connections as well as the desire to improve and legitimize several social trails in the area. They are holding a public meeting on May 31st at the Chateau- Incline Golf Course at 955 Fairway Drive in Incline Village. Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park General Management Plan- We put the call out for letters of support earlier this year and you delivered. The first open meeting was very well attended. They are having a second public meeting specifically on trails on June 7 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm also at the Chateau-Incline Golf Course, 955 Fairway Drive, Incline Village. The plan currently includes miles and miles of new trails and the opening of the Snow Valley Peak section of the TRT to mountain bikes.

The volunteer patrollers provide directions, education, assistance and medical response to all trail users. Based out of Spooner Lake, the patrol covers all bike-legal sections of the Tahoe Rim Trail through an agreement with the TRTA and is in the process of penning an agreement with the Forest Service to include other trails in the Basin. They are one of the largest chapter's in the country of IMBA's National Mountain Bike Patrol program.
