Meherabode Welcomes
Bill  & Diana Le Page

bill and diana 2

In 1954, Bill Le Page met Meher Baba for the first time when joining a group of specially-invited Western men to live in close proximity to Him for three weeks in India. This coincided with a series of mass darshan programs. Bill  was later directed by Beloved Baba to give public talks, and we continue to be the beneficiaries of Bill's sharing, in which the speaker draws on his experiences of meetings with Meher Baba in the 1950s and 1960s to convey a fresh glimpse into the life and timelessness of the God-Man. Traveling with his wife Diana, a noted artist devoted to painting Meher Baba's image, these sharings likewise include Diana's contribution in the form of images of the Beloved. For this April program, we look forward to hearing each of them share about how Baba has inspired them in their lives.

This Sunday event will conclude with a pot-luck lunch. Participants are requested, if possible, to bring side-dishes (e.g. salads, finger-foods, nuts, sweets or other goodies) to share.

Bill will also sign books in our lovely bookstore at the Center.

Born in Melbourne Australia in 1924, Bill has served for many years as  Chairman of Avatar's Abode in Queensland Australia. Bill  had the good fortune to attend the "Three Incredible Weeks" with Meher Baba in India in 1954, and was present when Baba gave His Final Declaration. Bill also spent time with Baba in 1956 and 1958, and Bill attended  Baba's "East-West Gathering" in 1962, where Baba's "Universal Message" was read.  Bill spent two weeks with Baba in India in 1967, and also  received Baba's "Last Darshan" in 1969 when Baba dropped His body.

Bill writes in his book, The Turning of the Key : "The only truly significant event in my life was my coming consciously into the orbit of Beloved Meher Baba's love at the age of twenty-two, the beginning and end of my life." Bill has been a psychologist, a businessman, and a writer, with Meher Baba the chief subject of his writings. An inspired speaker, Bill and his artist-wife Diana in recent years have been dividing their time between Avatar's Abode (Australia) and the Meher Spiritual Center (Myrtle Beach, SC).

Diana Le Page, who was part of our LA-area Baba community in the 1970s, has shared her life with Bill in Australia for many decades while continuing her distinctive work as an artist focusing on absorbing and depicting the image of Meher Baba. Her work is notably featured at the Meher Pilgrims Retreat located close to Meher Baba's Samadhi (tomb-shrine) at Meherabad in India.

A wonderful occasion for seasoned Baba-lovers as well as those new to Meher Baba. Come & bring friends for a festive spring day!
