Avastin vial

Counterfeit vials of Avastin (bevacizumab) have been distributed in the United States.

Healthcare providers are asked to contact the Food and Drug Administration's Office of Criminal Investigations at 800-551-3989 or www.fda.gov/OCI if they suspect they are in possession of counterfeit vials. (View images of the counterfeit vials.)

If a patient has any questions, they are encouraged to contact the Genentech Drug Safety Department at 888-835-2555 or Fight Colorectal Cancer at 877-427-2111.

What could be sweeter than cancer-fighting cocoa? Better proof that it actually works in preventing cancer.

A study of rats fed plain cocoa daily provided only a weak link to supposed cancer-prevention properties. Recent news stories have touted other cocoa cures but Fight Colorectal Cancer's Kate Murphy has broken down the science, and that tasty treat isn't all it's choc-ed up to be.

So enjoy that truffle, but only because it tastes good; not because you think it's keeping cancer at bay.
