Life and Death
In this week's Epistle lesson, Romans 5:12-19, Paul tells us that sin came into the world through Adam, and, as a result, Adam and all his descendants, all people, are sinful. Paul tells us that death reigned from Adam to Moses. Indeed, death seems to be an unbeatable force. However, Paul also tells us that, just as death came into the world through Adam, the second Adam, Jesus Christ, brings us life through His death and resurrection. Unlike the first Adam, Christ doesn't fall into sin, bringing us more death, but rather, He brings us forgiveness of sins and life.
