Struck by the splendor on the mountain, Peter wanted to make three tents. Somehow Peter's idea did not materialize. Instead, he received a terrific experience of transfiguration. While Peter and the team were still in terror, they received the comforting word of Jesus, "Rise, and have no fear." When Jesus was born he tented or tabernacled in this world. When he died, he destroyed his own tent and rose from the dead. Unlike Peter and the team, we don't have any restrictions now to tell the story of Jesus to others. We can gladly and joyfully share the reality of resurrection and seek comfort in the word of our Lord. Amen.
