St. Patrick's Day is a day for green beer and pub crawls, or at least it is in the popular imagination. Patrick was a well-born Roman citizen of Britain when the Roman Empire was breaking down. In his youth he was captured by Irish raiders (perhaps after a pub crawl). He was a slave in Ireland into his early adulthood, and after escaping back to England became a Christian pastor.  Most remarkably when he was asked to return to his captors, whose language he knew, he willingly returned to the people who had made him a slave. He became greater than a slave. He became a servant of Christ for the sake of the gospel (Galatians 1:1). Oh, for the faith of Patrick!
