Give Blood, Give Life- 7 May!
The last few Mays, we held blood drives and MLC members had all-time record donations in honor of our very own Luke George. Let's do it again in celebration of Luke's health! Tessa will be scheduling between the services in the Commons starting this weekend.  Please consider donating blood on Sunday 7 May- that's next week!  Sign-up today for your preferred scheduling.
From the Pastor
A Gift to the Undeserved
(Luke 24:13--35)
Faith comes to the unworthy. The two men who walk to the village of Emmaus did not recognize Jesus. They were even "foolish" because they were slow to believe the prophetic word about Jesus. However, as the story progresses, we realize that Jesus specifically chose these two men to impart the gift of faith. Finally, Jesus opens their eyes and hearts with the help of His Word so that they may see and believe. In the same way, when we are weak in our faith, Jesus strengthens us with His word so that we may believe, rejoice, and continue in our journey of faith. Amen.
