Power to the Members!

This past year, the church office has been working diligently to set up a new database system called Elexio to help our growing congregation improve reporting and communications.  Elexio allows you to edit your own personal and contact information, contact other members and groups directly, view the church calendar, and check your giving statement all from your home computer or smart phone. If you are interested in gaining access to your Elexio profile, click here for instructions on how to create a login and password.

From the Pastor
All Saints
"Another angel came and stood at the altar with a golden censer, and he was given much incense to offer with the prayers of all the saints on the golden altar before the throne" (Rev. 8:3). This Sunday is All Saints, when we solemnly intone the names of those who have fallen asleep in the arms of the Lord this year. We remember them with thanksgiving to God for the gifts which He has granted them. We know thay are with the saints who surround the throne of the Lamb in heaven. They are interceding for us there. What a comfort to know that our fellow believers are crying out to the Lord for us!
Don't Forget!

Who's New?

Adam R. Dekkapaty hails from a Lutheran Christian family in India.  After holding various positions in the Indian National Congress, Adam migrated to Texas. He intends to become a member of Memorial Lutheran and has been attending Adult Instruction courses. Adam is a native Telegu speaker and a supporter of Lutheran ministry. Adam believes that the Telugu community in Houston will benefit from a ministry located at MLC.

Welcome Adam! We look forward to seeing you around MLC.
Thanksgiving Meal

Once again, we are asking for your help in serving our less fortunate brothers and sisters, in our greater Houston area this Thanksgiving Day.  We will need the help of the entire congregation in order to make this a success.  At Memorial, we have been abundantly blessed, and this is one small way of sharing God's many blessings.  If you wish to volunteer in any capacity, make a donation, or want more information please see Wayne Murray at the table in the commons between worship services.  You may also contact Wayne or Arlene at home,

Memorial Lutheran School will be holding their book fair in conjunction with Grandparents Day, 22 November, and also on Sunday 24 November in between church services. Communion Ware
Update

The new communion ware is close to completion.  The new set will include two chalices, two patens, a ciborium, and a flagon. Ken Schmidt is hand forging the pieces out of Argentium silver, which is more tarnish resistant and stronger than other silvers.

Baptismal Font News

The Ecclesiastical Arts committee has been meeting to plan the bowl for the baptismal font.  They have been talking to Jim Bowman, a glass artist from Dallas.  Mr. Bowman is designing a glass bowl that will become part of our font and will have continuously flowing water in the font. This is "living water."
