An Exciting Church Year!
It has been an exciting year in the life of Memorial Lutheran Church. We have added two talented young men to our professional staff; one on the church, one on the school side. This Sunday we will install our new Director of Parish Music, Rev. Dr. Christopher Ahlman, as an Associate Pastor of MLC. What riches we have in the pastors on our staff! Our church is well known across the synod and around the world as a place where God's Word is faithfully taught and where God's people support and love their pastors.
This has a long tradition of the church. St. Paul extolled the church in Thessalonica for the very same reason. "Your faith in God has gone forth everywhere, so that we need not say anything. For they themselves report concerning us the kind of reception we had among you" (1 Thessalonians 1:8-9). We will receive Pastor Ahlman with joy just like this on Sunday.
A Telugu family is looking for a dining table, a couch, and a bed. If you have any of these items available, let
Pastor Pilli know.
If you have suggestions about things that you'd like to see in the Memorial Messenger, please let the office staff know. We would love to hear from you.

Welcome Basket- Help Needed!
We are putting together a pantry basket for the Ahlman family.
If you can provide for the basket, let us know or bring it in before the BBQ Sunday 22 October. Some ideas are pantry goods, something Texas or Houston-related, and/or gift cards or cash. Questions? Contact the church office at 713 782 6079.
