Pastor Travels to Latin America
As most members are aware, Pastor Murray has to travel a fair amount to fulfill his duties as a Vice-President of the LCMS. This month, he will travel to Guatemala where he will represent the Luther Academy and the LCMS at a mission summit for Latin America 21-24 October. The Luther Academy is an organization committed to raising the confessional Lutheran awareness of Lutheran clergy around the world. Great things are starting to happen in Latin America. Please pray for his safe travel and a successful meeting.
From the Pastor
Sharing the Word
"Pray without ceasing" (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
The last few weeks of the Memorial Moment have been dedicated to prayer. Paul's encouragement to continue praying comes from the attitude of Jesus Himself, who was continually in prayer. He sought to shape His will according to that of His Father. So too we pray that the Lord's will would be done among us, as it is in heaven. About that we should never stop praying.
Who's New?
The Rebber family moved from Austin where they attended Trinity Lutheran Church and after a short stay north of The Woodlands, they now live in Camp Logan near Memorial Park. Andy is a Regional Manager for the Verdin Bell Company and helped MLC with the acquisition of our carillon. Jamie is the Librarian at Memorial Lutheran School where Drew and Victoria attend fourth and second grades. They enjoy biking around Houston and also in the Texas State Parks. Drew plays baseball and golf, Victoria ice skates and they both play basketball for the school. Jamie likes to spend time riding her Andalusian horse, and Andy enjoys sailing and collecting books.

The Rebbers may be new but they certainly have made MLCS their home. Welcome!
Call Committee Makes Progress
The call committee of Memorial Lutheran Church is making remarkably swift progress toward offering a candidate to the congregation for election to the office of Associate Pastor. The committee has reduced the list of candidates to four men. They will be interviewed by phone on 16 October. After sorting out the results of those interviews, the committee will advise the congregation of its next steps. Pray the Lord of the harvest for workers in His harvest field.
Update Your Photo Directory Photos

Member photos will be taken between services

13 & 20 October in the commons. Come have your family's photos and individual photos taken for our photo directory and church database.  If you don't like your past photo or have never taken a member photo before, this is your chance!

It's quick and convenient.  Look for the photo backdrop in the commons and smile for the camera.
