From the Pastor
Christian Shrewdness
(Luke 16:1-15)
A good Christian is supposed to be as wise as a serpent and as innocent as a dove. (Matthew 10:16). If he is only innocent, he will be quickly overtaken by the devil, the world, and his own sinful self. The same principle may be applied to wealth and money. The manager in the parable of the dishonest manager (Luke 16:1-15) was commended for his shrewdness although condemned for his dishonesty. While a Christian should be careful not to be dishonest in his dealings, he should be shrewd enough when dealing with money. If a Christian makes money his master, his wealth will be unrighteous. If God becomes the master for a Christian, God can allow the money to serve the needs of the Christian and for the growth of God's kingdom. So, let's be shrewd! God becomes our Master! He helps us
keep money as our servant. Amen.
