You COULD Host Former Vicar, Chad Smith!
Concordia Theological Seminary's Kantorei, under the direction of Kantor Kevin Hildebrand, will be visiting our choir on Sunday, 4 January 2015.  Former Vicar Chad Smith is one of the choir members. Please consider hosting one or more of the visiting choir members as there are 16 young men and 3 staff members. Hosting involves picking up the choir members from MLC on the evening of Saturday, 3 January, spending one night in your home, breakfast, and bringing the choir members back to the church prior to early service on Sunday morning. It's really a rewarding experience to help these polite, young musicians while on tour. Contact Tessa Pernoud by email or call 713 782 6079 for more information or to sign up.
From the Vicar
Everything is Possible With God
Our faith can be a bit uncomfortable to subscribe to in our modern society.  Did Jonah really survive in the stomach of a fish for three days?  Could Noah and company really manage to collect two of every species and put them in a big wooden box?  These things are difficult to wrap our heads around.  But in the grand scheme of things, are they really that far-fetched?

We believe that God himself (Jesus Christ) came down to earth as a little baby, born of a virgin, allowed himself to be put to death by creatures of his own making, so that he could pay for every single tiny sin that ever existed and grant eternal life and salvation to damned sinners!  At what point did being swallowed by a fish become unrealistic?

God has no limits and nothing should be unrealistic when discussing the capabilities of our Lord.  "For nothing will be impossible with God." (Luke 1:37)  So let us rejoice in the inexplicable and miraculous power of our God to save even you and I.
