Concerning Pr. Pacey's Call
For the past four weeks, I have been prayerfully considering a call to serve West Portal Lutheran Church and School as Senior Pastor. During this time, my prayer has been the revelation of where God would have me serve. Last night, I declined the call to WPLCS. I believe God would have me continue to serve Memorial Lutheran Church and School as your Associate Pastor. Thank you all for your prayers and support during this process.

"
Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."-
Matthew 11.
In these words of Jesus, we are reminded of two important truths. The first truth is that when it comes to God and Humanity, there is the possibility of a real communion, a real relating, a real binding together. Humanity was created for communion with God. Our sin is what has separated us. The second truth is that when it comes to this binding, this yoke, the burden is light. The reason it is light is because the impossibly heavy work of putting God and Humanity together has been born by another; namely Jesus. Because of our Savior's life, death, and resurrection, our sin has been taken away. Through baptism, God now yokes us to himself forevermore.
