From the Pastor
This coming Sunday we celebrate what is called "Good Shepherd" Sunday.  Jesus is the Good Shepherd.   He shows his goodness for the sheep in that he loves, cares, and provides for them.

The Good Shepherd knows his sheep, but how do the sheep know their shepherd?  The sheep have come to know and recognize their shepherd by his call.  His call to the sheep, to us, through his holy Word and his blessed Sacraments.  Through this call we have come to know Jesus as our own Good Shepherd.

In addition to celebrating Good Shepherd Sunday, we bid farewell and God speed to our own shepherd/pastor (emeritus), Rev. Victor Atsinger, as well as his wife Sylvia.  The Atsinger's will be moving to Ballwin, MO next week.  The Lord be with you both during this time of transition.  You will be greatly missed!
Sunday's Scripture Readings & Hymns
Hymns: LSB  524, 709, 625, 740, 666
Confessional Room
The resource of our confessional room is being used and appreciated by our members. How blessed we are to have the promise of our Lord Jesus Christ in His Easter evening appearance: "Jesus said to [the Apostles] again, "'Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.' And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, 'Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you withhold forgiveness from any, it is withheld'" (Jn 20:21-23). The image of the stained glass tells us that story. Jesus says away our sin in holy absolution. The room is available to you when you would like to pray. An Elder can give you access between services. You can check with church office at other times and our staff will give you access. You can use the room for confession by appointment with one of the pastors.
If you have suggestions about things that you'd like to see in the Memorial Messenger, please let the office staff know. We would love to hear from you.

Sincerely,
Rev. Dr. Scott R. Murray
