Post BBQ Thank You
Thank you to those of you who brought a side or dessert item to share for the BBQ. They were delicious and much appreciated! Thank you also to our BBQ team for the hard work Saturday and Sunday, to our set-up crew, and to our small, but amazing clean-up crew.
From the Pastor
Growing in God's Grace
Last year was another year of remarkable growth for MLC. Worship attendance was up to 457 per week. Our baptized membership was up to 853. The average age of our members is 37 years, unchanged from 2014. For the first time since I've been pastor here, there are now over 100 children enrolled in the Sunday school. On New Member Sunday, 24 January 2016, we added almost 40 new members. We will be pushing 900 members by the end of this year, if God is willing. Here is where all the thanks must be placed, for another year of grace; on our good and gracious God.
Sunday's Scripture Readings & Hymns
Jeremiah 1:4-10,17-19
Hymns: 401, 766, 842, 846, 746, 578
Lenten Lunch Volunteers Needed!
Please consider providing or teaming up with a friend to provide a light lunch during our Lenten Season. Lenten Lunch attendance is around 30 people and requires set-up before the noon service lets out and subsequent clean-up directly after. There is one more date available: 10 February. Please help us fill Ash Wednesday! If you are able to help, please contact the church office at 713 782 6079.
If you have suggestions about things that you'd like to see in the Memorial Messenger, please let the office staff know. We would love to hear from you.

Sincerely,
Rev. Dr. Scott R. Murray
