Thanksgiving Help
Once again, we are asking for your help in serving our less fortunate brothers and sisters in our Houston community at a Thanksgiving meal at Memorial Lutheran Church this Thanksgiving Day.  We will need the help of the entire congregation in order to make this a success.  We at Memorial have been abundantly blessed and this is one small way of sharing God's many blessings.  If you wish to volunteer, make a donation or want more information please see the Thanksgiving table in the commons between worship services or contact Wayne or Arlene at home, 281 240 9644 or email.
From the Pastor
Hurray, the Election is Over!
"Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation. When his breath departs, he returns to the earth; on that very day his plans perish" (Ps 146:3-4). I've often been intensely interested in the intellectual battles that go on during a political campaign. This campaign season has been different. I didn't really hear many thoughtful arguments about policy or governmental direction. It was mainly mudslinging. Mudslinging is easy, because it sticks to everyone, because all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Rm 3:23). Pointing at any candidate and snidely pointing out his or her wickedness is like shooting fish in a barrel. Of course he or she is a sinner! For that reason, Christians should never invest ultimacy in the work done by politicians. Only God's plans come to fruition. Relax. God's in charge, even if sinners lead us.
