Last Call for Thanksgiving Help
Once again, we are asking for your help in serving our less fortunate brothers and sisters in our Houston community at a Thanksgiving meal at Memorial Lutheran Church this Thanksgiving Day.  We will need the help of the entire congregation in order to make this a success.  We at Memorial have been abundantly blessed and this is one small way of sharing God's many blessings.  If you wish to volunteer, make a donation or want more information please see Wayne Murray at the table in the commons between worship services or contact Wayne or Arlene at home, 281 240 9644,  or   click to email
From the Pastor
Installed!
Last Sunday I was installed as an Assistant Pastor at Memorial Lutheran church to be a Missionary for East Indian people. The long awaited event finally happened. It was a great celebration indeed;  The worship was holy, the hymns were marvelous, and the liturgy uplifting. I was really humbled by the serenity of the whole event. However, the lingering question in my heart and mind during the worship was this: "Am I really worthy to receive this honor and carry out the holy task given to me?" When the negativity of the answer was burdening my heart, the comforting gospel came to me in the form of preaching.  There is no doubt that I am unworthy, but God is the one who is doing His work through this unworthy vessel. It's not about me. The powerful proclamation of the gospel took away the burden in my heart and gave me peace. Now, I assure all the saints at Memorial that I will diligently carry out my duties, obey the leadership, and reach out to East Indians in Houston and beyond who are desperately in need to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am installed, Thanks be to God!
