From the Vicar
It is Good

The Apostle Peter loves to talk.  He gets swept up in the moment and cherishes every bit. He says, "Lord, it is good that we are here." He wants to go straight to Jesus' glory, and side step the suffering. Here's the reality: Jesus' suffering is his glory.  The Apostle John saw this in his vision.  He writes,  "Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and mighty and honor and glory and blessing!" (Rev. 5:12).  How blessed to know that our suffering has a purpose.  We don't always see the power of God working in it now, but on the Last Day it will all be opened for us to see.

Who's New?

Tom and Joyce Zachman currently reside in Richmond, TX, having lived in the Houston area for well over 30 years.  They recently transferred to MLC from Fishers of Men (Sugar Land).

Tom is retired from the Fluor Corp., having spent his entire 36 year career there.  Joyce is Executive Director of the Texas Tech Parents Association.  They have 5 children and 6 grandchildren and enjoy traveling, especially to their second home in the Colorado mountains.

Welcome! We are glad to have you at MLC.

Please Consider Hosting a Visiting Choir Member on 17 April 2014

Concordia, St-Paul, MN under the direction of Dr. David Mennike will be our visiting choir on Maundy Thursday. Please consider hosting one or more of the visiting choir members as this is a sizable choir. Hosting involves picking up the choir members on the evening of 17 April after Maundy Thursday 7:00 PM service, spending one night at your home, breakfast, and dropping the choir members back off at MLC by a certain time in the morning. It's really a rewarding experience to help these polite, young musicians while they are on tour. More details to come so if you are interested, please stay tuned.
