From the Vicar
Jesus or Immanuel?
When the angel of the Lord comes to Joseph in the book of Matthew (1:18-25), he tells Joseph that Mary will bear a son called Jesus. We are then told that this is to fulfill a prophecy that says this child will be called Immanuel. So, you may be asking yourself, which is it? Is this child Jesus or Immanuel? The answer to that question is both! Jesus Christ is Immanuel, God with us. Jesus Christ, who is God in the flesh, comes to live among us so that He can save God's people and give us forgiveness and life.

The Quempas Carol is a beautiful tradition dating back to Medieval times. The choir is stationed at the four corners of the sanctuary, symbolizing the proclamation of the Good News of Christ's birth to the four corners of the world. Part of the choir also sings the story of Christ's birth from the balcony. This is a simple, beautiful way to sing with the choir. If you are interested in singing the Quempas Carol at the 10:00 PM candlelight Service on Christmas Eve, or would like more information, please contact Cantor Muth Older children and adults are encouraged to participate!
