Are you Handy? Can you lend a hand?

Come join us tomorrow, Saturday 10 May, from 8:00 AM-Noon for Trustee Work Day to do a little sprucing up of the MLCS campus.   It's not all glamorous work but it's needed. Breakfast and lunch (if the work goes past lunch) will be provided. Please email Mr. Thacker if you can come help us out. [email protected]

From the Pastor
Joy in Easter

Alleluia!  Christ is risen!  He is risen indeed, alleluia!  Easter is a season full of joy. Death has been put to death. What else could be our reaction but overwhelming joy? Jesus tells us that when the bridegroom is with us, we should not be fasting or glum (Mark 2:19). Our family is looking forward to a wedding this summer. Who would not be full of joy on such an occasion? So because our heavenly Bridegroom is with us there can be nothing but celebrating. Christ is risen indeed! Alleluia. Let us rejoice and be glad!

Who's New?

Chris Pacey is our new member featured this week.

Originally from Orange County, California, he lived there for 38 years before moving his mom, their three dogs, and
himself to Houston, Texas in February of this year. Chris attended California State University, Fresno where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology. He currently lives in Northwest Houston and works for Thomas Instrument in Brookshire, TX.  He first learned about Memorial Lutheran Church and Pastor Murray from the "Dying to Live" podcasts on Pirate Christian Radio.

Welcome Chris, we are glad you have you here with us!

This Week's Scriptural Lessons
Nicaragua Clothing Collection

The Nicaragua mission team is seeking donations of warm-weather children's clothing to take to Nicaragua this summer.  Many of the children we work with have only one set of clothing and no shoes.  Your used warm-weather children's clothing will be an incredible blessing to these children.  Please bring your donation to the church on any Sunday during May.  These can be given directly to John Coulter.  Please contact John at 832 264 4017 or at [email protected] with any questions you have regarding the Nicaragua mission.

If you have suggestions about things that you'd like to see in the Memorial Messenger, please let the office staff know. We would love to hear from you.

Sincerely,
Rev. Dr. Scott R. Murray
Senior Pastor
