From the Pastor
Life Itself

Simplicity, convenience, ease-of-use-these are the values held in high esteem by consumers today. We tend to want the short version, the quick tutorial, the easy and painless path to progress. We like our religion that way, too. "Just give me the essentials, not all that doctrine or exegesis or history. Oh, novelty is okay; at least it's interesting. And 'positive thinking' is good, too; it helps get me through the day. But I've got my own work and interests and TV shows to keep up with, so don't expect me to study or memorize or dig deeply."
"And someone said to [Jesus], 'Lord, will those who are saved be few?' And he said to them, 'Strive to enter through the narrow door. For many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able.'" Christ's words and ways are not the "spice of life" or "a part of life," they are life itself; they are Spirit; they are truth. They are worthy of more than our attention; they are worthy of our devotion, and through them, through Him, "people will come from east and west, and from north and south, and recline at table in the Kingdom of God." Lord, give us ears to hear. Amen.

Telugu Ministry Update
Dear Members of Memorial:
It is my joy and privilege to inform you that the Telugu Ministry is progressing well at Memorial. Our Telugu community is steadily growing and currently I have the opportunity to interact with many Telugu people, Indian Christians, Hindus, and people from other nationalities. A couple of weeks ago, we baptized three by the power of the Spirit. Baptisms and conversions are the ongoing work of our Telugu mission.  As our community is growing, our needs are also growing in many areas.  Our financial needs increased this year when compared to last year. Currently we are seeking ways to meet the budget for 2016. To meet the budget in 2016, Telugu Ministry needs $45,000. I encourage all our members to contribute generously toward this vital mission at Memorial, so that we may continue this work among the Telugu people in Houston. I also want to seek different ways to raise money for Telugu Ministry. If you have any potential ideas for funding and resources, please share your ideas with me and the other pastors. I really appreciate your prayers and continue to request your prayers and support for this vital mission among Telugu people. I look forward to hearing from you soo n.
Rich blessing on you and your families!
