Give Blood, Give Life!

This is Luke. Luke is 7 years old and our fellow MLC member. A little over a year ago, he was diagnosed with Leukemia. Last May, we held a blood drive in honor of Luke and MLC donated 55 units of blood to the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center in his name. This was a record year for MLC blood drives. Thanks to donors like you we were able to help Luke, and many others like him, to continue treatment.  Please consider donating blood next Sunday 3 May between 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM in our school gym. Sign up for a time slot by contacting Tessa by responding to this email, or 713 782 6079,  or visit the table in the Commons between services this Sunday, 26 April.

Thank you to those of you who will take a few minutes of your time to promote life.

From the Pastor

May be it's a good thing to remain as "little children!" The expression "little children" in the Epistle lesson helps us to understand how much we depend on God for our spiritual needs. While the writer uses these words as an expression of  endearment, we are actually "little children" completely dependent on God for both our physical and spiritual needs. The word God is used in the Epistle lesson fifteen times to show how many good gifts are flowing from His gracious bounty.  The limitations of little children (Christians) are clearly visible in the text. Inability to confess, love, and recognize the false prophets are failures on the part of human beings. However, God continuously gives us His gifts including giving His own Son, so that with His help, we may be able to love, recognize the correct doctrine and confess Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. He makes us to continue as little children in His presence. Amen.

What's New Telugu?

We are happy to announce that the Vellanki family from the Telugu community was baptized last Sunday and are now members of the church. More Telugu families are seeking baptism in the near future as well. Thank you for your prayers and support. The Telugu Ministry is working to meet our $5,000 goal in April. We request your continuous prayers, support and encouragement for this vital ministry at Memorial.

God's Rich Blessings,

Pastor Pilli
