The Last Day
This coming Sunday is the last Sunday of the Church Year. For three weeks, we have heard and considered Jesus' words concerning the Kingdom of the God, judgment, and the Last Day. When it comes to this day, God calls us to look ahead not with fear and trembling, but with peace and joy. The reason why we are able to consider it in this way is because we have already been prepared for the Lord's return. When were we prepared? We were prepared when Jesus died on the cross and rose from the grave taking away our sin forever. When were we prepared? We were prepared when we were baptized, adopted as the children of God, and made heirs of his heavenly kingdom. The Last Day is not a time to fear, but rather a time to look forward to with thanks.

Amelia Jane Myers is our Who's New this week. She is the daughter of Colin and Catherine Myers and granddaughter of Keith and Ellen Brda. Amelia also has aunts, an uncle, and a cousin that are also MLC members. Catherine, Amelia's mother, is our MLS athletic director and she teaches P.E. and Health to our students. Amelia was baptized into God's family on 21 September here at MLC. She enjoys playing Patty Cake, playing with her toes, and sitting in her high chair. Welcome Amelia!
